Interactive space

Currently in interactive space:) Have found it really intresting looking at John Heartfield photo montage and how he used composition and scale to make a piece of politcal art.
Also looked at early cinema and european cinema such as Hans Ritcher. I found Marco Brambilas work incredible the video montage in sequence of a lift.
This is a sequence i put together from a North by Northwest basicaly i thought of te man seeing womens lips he wants them she responds with a smile then kiss.I also adjusted the contrast and brightness to see the differnce.

Bad day

I'm still in bed today has been such a bad day feeling so ill and sick, just want it to go away!

Oneshot Film: Was it worth it?

This is our final group edit:

The music was chosen because it times well with the transition from the door to the party.
I'd like to say that the end of this project it certainly made me realise how hard it is to take a one shot depsite the fact we did push the boundaries in order to have more personality it was still very difficult with all the post production work. The idea we had in our head is similar to what we have produced however we inteded it to be more alive but with the lack of helpers from struggling to find them we found ourselves with limited resources to do this as they were needed behind the scenes example holding up the cardboard therfore if i was to do it again i would use so many more people.I liked our use of lighting as we used a purple gel tint on our party to make it seem more alive and also the lighting at the end on the table.I think we really used the idea of lighting. Also if i was to do it again i would wish for a bigger area space as it we struggle with the size of our props and the limited amount of space thinking abou it now we could have organised the set differntly to enable this but i dont think the limited space damages the film in anyway, however i do think it would be improved if we had that. I like the fact when we filmed we thought about where our credits would go and left space for that. Overall there are many things that i would like to change but im happy with our end product :)

L-A-Z-Y

I'm feeling so lazy today! so i thought i would share this video with you.
I wish i could be this guy so bad! Its such a good video :)

Edit- Sound

Thinking about the group edit and my own personal edit, ive been thinking about what would fit most with the scenario and movement in the film. The beginning i thought about keeping the orignal sick noise, however we intended for the noise to muted and for it purely to be edited on. I came across the song Puke by Eminem and at the start of the song you hear sick noises which fit very well.Obviously i would have the noise up untill Eminem starts to sing.
I needed to think about a fast moving song that goes straight into it for the party scene basically have picked a few mainly from the band Bloc Party.
To finish off the video i needed a song which had a sense of regret as it ends with 'Was it worth it' which basically is the main focus to our film searching through my music i found this song by The Drums to play out the end of the short film it fits well.

Unedit

Obviously we used a lot of movement and really pushed the boundaries that were set with our brief. I wish that we had a bigger area to work with and more cardboard to ensure we wouldnt beable to see people holding the cardboard and things off set. However i could argue that thats actually how we wanted it to look we didnt want it to be fully polished and that it was meant to look like a film set. We spent along time developing the set with the making of the cardboard doors and walls to the lifting a sofa through the door. I'm really excited to edit it i have lots of ideas youllll seee :) x

One Shot Finished ... WELL NEARLY

OUR ONE SHOT FILM

Nice early start this morning and after a lot of takes we finaly got our one shot its still a bit rusty and there is so much that we would of liked to do differntly however i will be telling you about that it in a later blog. The idea we had we were really pleased with however i think we underestimated the difficulty of the task in our heads for example how flimsy carboard can be when using it as a door and wall  and how many people we would need to hold it up!! I'm currently uploading the unedited version to you tube so will have it up tonight. Whilst checking the back wall i noticed this little mousey home which of course we couldnt get in the shot :) x

Preparation

Yesterday my group got together and started on the making of the set for out one shot film. We managed to get lots and lots and lots of cardboard from the graphics department and also tesco! Then we got some duct tape and travelled back to toms where we made two cardboard walls with doors for our set. During that time we also finalised everyones jobs within the production and wrote down the list of actors we are using. We've booked the studio and equipment so all thats left now is to film! I hope it all goes well :) ..... well i'll let you know tomorrow :D

Lighting

On friday we did lighting and learned the use of various ways on how to light by performing an interview. Our group found reflecting useful, however over used it on my face opposed to Tom's who didnt have enough lighting on him which made him look washed out. We also filmed outside and inside learning the contrast between intensity, coherence and the colour temperature.

My Room

So my room at university is becoming a bit boring and fed up of seeing the moudly blue tack marks which i often play dot to dot with in my head to help me sleep... SOOOOO  i have now decided to 'Jazz' it up a bit. I'm going to buy some fairy lights and make collage's for the wall stuff from home and stuff from university maybe built upon my life, no doubt my wall will be filled with music posters by the end of it and Robert Pattinson mmm :) x

HOME

Home sweet home for the weekend, feels like i'd never been gone apart from the fact my room is extremely empty as most of my stuff was moved into my small room at uni ( still dont know how it all fit)
Tommorrow meeting up with my group to organise and maybe film our one shot film although not sure on where we are going to get so much cardboard from if we are following up with the same idea to make different sets with one person in them. I suppose i could get started on doing some design for the set will be simple but look effective at the end well so we hope as we plan to film it inside ( maybe because we wont get interupted by drunken men this time).
CIAO FOR NOW.

My First One Shot Film

We went to the Arboretum park to film our video and came across a big dilema, we had just set up and found we had one minute left on film so we were going to have one practice but also we were ambushed by three drunken old men who became very intrigued by our filming one was chanting and one sat down and one could hardly speak what a dilema. Soooo to conclude it was a bit of a disaster coming back with nothing despite the fact we had rehearsed the Michael Jackson classic thriller quite a few times.
